Paroi Camp
Located 3km East from Seremban town. Previously been
used as a small airstrip for British aircraft like
Auster, Single Pioneer and Twin Pioneer operation.
Several British Army Air Corps stationed there. One of
if was 2nd Flight Army Air Corp. Completed hangars,
aircraft sheds, military barracks were located in nearby
vicinity of the airstrip. Known also as Paroi camp, the
tarmac airstrip were used by British Army Air Corps for
air operation supporting land forces operated deep in
the jungle.
Recently when British moved, this camp were demolished
and stripped away. Most of the barracks were torn down
leaving one hangar and an aircraft shed intact. A modern
stadium and a petrol station were built nearby. We hope
that local authority will secured this historic place
and protected it for future generations. |
